As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing a strategic and efficient procurement process. With your strong analytical skills and negotiation expertise, you will ensure the optimal selection of medical products while securing the best purchasing conditions. Operating within the MEG sourcing framework, you will balance quality, availability and cost efficiency. The diverse nature of procurement tasks including multiple suppliers, varying order volumes and dynamic budgets - keeps your work dynamic and engaging.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement of medical and laboratory equipment, supplies and pharmaceuticals, ensuring the most competitive terms.
  • Support the timely and cost-efficient delivery of medical solutions, enhancing global healthcare access.
  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with international suppliers, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Address supplier underperformance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop, negotiate and finalize contracts in collaboration with the Head of Buying, overseeing contractual agreements.
  • Conduct strategic negotiations to secure optimal purchasing conditions within defined targets.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of contracts and procurement terms.
  • Regularly visit global suppliers to strengthen partnerships and optimize collaboration.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvements in sourcing strategies, aligning with customer needs.
  • Assess and minimize procurement risks including supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations and dependency risks.
  • Work closely with internal teams including Sales, Quality, Inbound Supply and Planning, to optimize procurement workflows.
  • Develop and implement improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and product quality.
  • Optimize stock levels and provide recommendations for inventory management within the assigned product category.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced and strategically-minded buyer with an international approach to procurement and sourcing. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Economics, International Business or Supply Chain Management, with a NEVI 1 certification (and NEVI 2 certification is a valuable advantage).

With your expertise in managing complex procurement projects and contract negotiations, you are adept at engaging effectively with both suppliers and internal stakeholders. Your strong negotiation and communication skills empower you to collaborate seamlessly across all organizational levels, and you have the ability to persuasively guide others in executing your strategies. A passion for networking and building lasting relationships is key to your success. Additionally, you bring proficiency in Excel and ERP systems, with a keen attention to detail that drives procurement process optimization. You are fluent in both Dutch and English, with advanced skills in both written and spoken communication.

Experience with purchasing medical or laboratory equipment and/or pharmaceuticals will be highly advantageous. As our work involves international suppliers, frequent travel is part of the role. You have a strong ability to balance teamwork with outcome-driven performance, thriving in dynamic, globally-oriented environment. Furthermore, you are:
